Chicken Curry in Coconut Paste / Thenga Arachu Kozhi Curry



Ingredients
  1. Whole Chicken (Small Pieces) - 1kg
  2. Diced Onion - 2 nos
  3. Garlic (chopped) -2 ½ tbsp
  4. Ginger (chopped) -2 ½ tbsp
  5. Green Chilly (Slit) - 6 nos
  6. Grated Coconut- 1 cup
  7. Red Chilly Powder - 3 tbsp
  8. Coriander Powder- 3 tbsp
  9. Turmeric Powder- 1 tsp
  10. Garam Masala- ½ tsp
  11. Fennelseed powder - 1 tsp
  12. Coconut Oil-3 tbsp
  13. Salt -to taste
  14. Curry leaves - a few


Directions

  1. Grind coconut into fine paste.
  2. Heat Oil in a Pan.
  3. Add onions, green Chillies and saute well, till they turn transparent.
  4. Add the ginger-garlic in to it and saute for sometime.
  5. Add chilly powder, coriander powder, Saute till raw smell goes.
  6. Add Chicken and saute it for 2 minutes.
  7. Add Water,Turmeric powder and Salt and allow to Cook.
  8. When Chicken is cooked fully add pepper powder and garam masala and allow to boil .
  9. Add Coconut paste and let it boil for 5 minutes
  10. Turn off the stove and add curry leaves.
