Sardine (Mathi) Curry




Ingredients
  1. Sardine - 10
  2. Kudampulli - 2 pieces
  3. Curry Leaves - 3 sprig
  4. Oil - 2 tbsp
  5. Salt - for taste
For Paste
  1. Red Chilli Powder - 3 tbsp
  2. Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
  3. Corriander Powder - 1 tbsp
  4. Fenugreek Powder - 1/4 tsp
  5. Shallots - 6 to 8
  6. Garlic - 3 pods
  7. Ginger - 1"

Directions
  1. In a blender grind the above ingredients "For Paste" with enough water to fine paste.
  2. Gently mix ground spicy paste, kudampulli and Salt with Sardines well.
  3. Heat kalachatti or pan and pour oil. Spread oil evenly in the pan.
  4. Spread 2 sprig of Curry Leaves and place our sardines carefully over it.
  5. Add little Water and bring to boil.
  6. When Gravy thickens, remove from fire.
  7. Sprinkle some oil and curryleaves at the top and keep it for 20 - 30 minutes.
  8. Serve with Rice or Tapioca.
