Vanpayar (Red Cow Peas) Thoran



Ingredients
  1. Vanpayar (Red Cow Peas) - 1 cup
  2. Grated Coconut - 3/4 cup
  3. Cumin Seeds - a pinch
  4. Chopped Garlic - 2 pods
  5. Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
  6. Chilli Powder - 1/2 tsp
  7. Pepper Powder - 1/2 tsp
  8. Curry Leaves - a Sprig
  9. Oil - 2 tbsp
  10. Salt - for taste
Directions
  1. Soak Vanpayar for 6 hrs.
  2. Boil Vanpayar in a Vessel with Turmeric Powder, Salt and water until soft.
  3. Crush Coconut, Cumin Seeds and Chilli Powder.
  4. Heat pan and add cooked Vanpayar.
  5. Add Garlic and Coconut mix to it.
  6. Add Curry Leaves and Oil and stir until dry and remove from fire.
