Rice Flakes (Aval) Payasam




Ingredients
  1. Rice Flakes / Aval - 2 cups
  2. Milk - 4 Cups
  3. Jaggery (Sugar) - as needed
  4. Cashewnuts - 8
  5. Raisins - 8
  6. Cardamom - 4
  7. Ghee - 2 tbsp
Directions
  1. Melt Jaggery in  boiling water, filter it and keep it aside.
  2. Heat 1 tbsp Ghee in pan, add Cashewnuts and Raisins. Fry it and keep aside.
  3. In same pan add the other 1tbsp Ghee and add Rice Flakes.
  4. Stir till it becomes light fluffy.
  5. Add Milk and allow it to boil.
  6. When boiled reduce heat and add jaggery. Stir Occasionally for 10 minutes.
  7. Switch off the stove and add fried Cashewnuts, Raisins and Cardamom Powder.
  8. Serve and enjoy the cardamom flavoured Aval Payasam.
