Chukku Kappi is a herbal medicinal decoction using pungent spices like Dry Ginger, Pepper, Cumin and an aromatic herb like Tulasi with a touch of Jaggery and flavoured by Coffee. It's quite strong and spicy and sweet which helps alleviate cough and cold, mild fever, throat infections and nasal congestions.
Ingredients
- Water - 11/2 cups
- Coffee Powder - 1 tsp
- Dry Ginger powder - 1 tsp
- Pepper Powder - 1 tsp
- Cumin Powder - 1/2 to 3/4 tsp
- Jaggery - to taste
- Tulasi - 6 to 7
- In a saucepan, heat water, add jaggery and melts it.
- Add Ginger powder, Pepper powder and Cumin powder.
- When it boils, add Coffee powder.
- Stir for few minutes and then add Tulasi leaves and turn off the stove.
- Close the pan with a lid.
- Strain the Coffee into glass
- Sip it and enjoy the aroma coming from Tulasi and the pungent flavours from the spices.
